@Ee Yuing: Not sure what makes you say that. This lion was having two of his lionesses with him and they were in their mating period (meaning they separate from the pride for about two weeks to do their business). Sexual maturity is reached only after 5 years, so this one was at least 5 years. His dark manes also indicate he is quite fertile and strong..definitely an alphamale.
what's an average lifespan of a lion anyways? the lion looks "young" as he might possibly be in his prime. my comment was simply prompted by the "cheeky" look i find, with those squinty eyes and upturned jawlines...

@Ee Yuing: I see..was just wondering how you were seeing it..just know it was at least 5 years old. Lions tend to get not much older than 12 (because they get pushed off their throne by a younger stronger lion) while lionesses can get as old as 20, at least in the wild.
